SPECIFICATIONS

The use of SONEC makes clear improvements to the soundproofing of common construction systems, both at low frequencies (a critical range for clubs, restaurants, etc.) and at the 2,500 Hz range, achieving noise attenuation and a resonant frequency shift.

DQC has carried out several studies and trials with independent certification companies to check the improvements obtained when applying SONEC to different construction systems.

Specifications of the SONEC acoustic membrane once cast:

Density: 1750 Kg/m3
Tensile strength: 6,7 Kg/cm2
Elasticity: 250%
Waterproof:
Breathability: WDD = 50 g/m2 x dSD = 0,4m
Heat conductivity: 0,43 W/mk
Increase in soundproofing: 3-5 dB

Average thickness: 0,5 ± 10%
Resistance to microorganisms: Bacteria and fungi (yeasts and filamentous)
Transportation: ADR label not required for transportation
Safety: No special safety measures required for application
Fire performance: Bs2d0
Study carried out in standardised chambers and soundproofing calculated according to ISO Standard 717-1:1996.mejora-bajas-frecuencias-membrana-acustica

Applying the SONEC acoustic membrane improves soundproofing at low frequencies, a very important range in the case of restaurants, clubs, bars, gyms, etc., in order to comply with noise and acoustic contamination standards.

mejora-frecuencia-2500-membrana-acusticaStudy carried out in standardised chambers and soundproofing calculated according to ISO Standard 717-1:1996.

Applying the SONEC acoustic membrane  displaces the critical frequency of construction systems, which are usually situated at the 2,500 Hz range, to less audible frequencies.
Its plastic mass reduces the resonant frequency of the rigid materials it is applied to..

   CONCLUSIONS
  • Improves soundproofing of construction system of between 3 and 5 dB.
  • Eliminates coincidence dip at 2500 Hz.
  • Increases soundproofing at low frequencies by transforming acoustic energy into dynamic energy.
  • Delivers greater soundproofing performance without increasing mass or thickness of finishes.
  • Displaces overall resonant frequency to less audible frequencies.
